CKD MINIS Dungeon

It’s a true custom modular set pieces system. Each piece is interchangeable to make your own maps.

Each piece is precisely measured to fit into a game grid where each square has a side of 32mm (1.26 inches).

Each map can be enhanced with accessories (rocks, treasure chest, campfire, etc.) to add variety, surprises or simply more possibilities for the players.

About

My face

Who am I

My name is Cédrick DAÏRIEN, I am 36 years old and I have been a computer graphic designer by trade for 15 years.

I have been passionate about the worlds of medieval fantasy and science fiction since my first reading of Lord of the Rings at the age of 12.

As a drawing and video game lover, I naturally followed training in 2D and 3D design to get a game artist certificate.

I put all my personal and professional aspirations and experiences in this project which I hope you will enjoy for your tabletop role-playing games.

The origins

The CKD Minis project began at the end of 2021 when a friend, author and game master, offered to introduce me to tabletop role-playing games with friends. At the time, I was far from imagining all the repercussions that this session would have in my life!

I first looked to buy figurines and then decorations, but I quickly noticed the limits of the current market in terms of choice and quality.

Frustrated, I then embarked on the (slightly crazy) project of creating 3D game cards to use for our sessions.

One thing led to another, here is the products that I present to you on this site and that I want to share with you.

Creation steps

For each universe, the creative journey is the same. Role-playing games are a great source of inspiration and thanks to my skills in drawing, modeling and 3D printing, I achieve the results that you can see here.

Sketch

1 - Conceptual drawings.

I produce conceptual drawings on a computer which allows me to quickly establish my ideas without necessarily trying to produce a finalized artwork.

3D sculpt in Blender

2 - 3D sculpt

I sculpt all my pieces and figurines in the open source software Blender.

3 - 3D printing

I use the stereolithography (3D SLA) technique based on liquid resin. This method has the advantage of being very affordable and offering a wide choice of results depending on the resin used.

There are a few post-production steps remaining to deliver a finished figurine. A rinse, a curing session and sanding by hand allow me to add the final touch to your future CKD MINIS set pieces and figurines!
